Batuhan Aydagül speaks of his own awakening to feminism and how it has influenced his career expanding women’s access to education in Turkey. Challenging culturally embedded Turkish masculine identity is not easy, he says, but is a conscious effort that must be continually undertaken. Aydagül’s reflection on the evolution of his own views leads him to challenge to audience to evaluate their own, and to open a window and let fresh ideas in.
Batuhan Aydagül is one of TurkishWIN’s Guys Who Rock. He is the Coordinator of the Education Reform Initiative (ERI), a Turkish non-governmental think-and-do-tank in education. He is an education policy analyst with more than ten years of experience in education policy and administration in both developing and post-conflict countries.
